to Chaminade being declared Venerable in 1973.
Vasey submitted the work to the Vatican to
answer objections about the Last Years raised by
the Devil's Advocate at the Preparatory Session
of 1936, which had brought Chaminades cause to
a standstill. The book is less a narrative than
a series of legal briefs. The French text of the Confidential
Memorandum, complete with Latin footnotes, is
found on pp. 361-88.
