Between January and May 2023, NACMS facilitated four virtual programs that focused on the following topics and the Magnificat.

The Magnificat's Importance for Marianists

Sr. Franca Zonta, FMI, the former Superior General of the Marianist Sisters, shared her reflections and wisdom on the important place of the Magnificat in the life and prayer of Marianists.

Mary's Magnificat: Message Amplification Long Before Social Media

Dr. Neomi DeAnda, theologian and Lay Marianist, led participants in an interactive session discussing messages of universality which can be found in Mary's words in Luke. It included how some of these messages have been depicted by various artists. Some Marian images brought to the discussion include: Mary and Elizabeth, Our Lady of Sorrows, and Maria Lactans.

Praying with the Magnificat: A Virtual Retreat Day

NACMS staff members Gabby Bibeau and Mallory Fowler led an afternoon of prayer, conversation, journaling, and reflective reading all centered on Mary's Magnificat.

Social Justice and the Magnificat

This engaging and informative panel discussed the Magnificat's influence on social justice, particularly in the Marianist tradition. Our panelists were Brian Halderman, Bro. Mitch Schweickart, SM, Sarah Gray, and Sr. Nicole Trahan, FMI.
